Crouch Hill Road Closure

Closure of Crouch Hill

Alert for residents. Crouch Hill is going to be closed to traffic for a period of eight months (yes, 8 months!) with effect from 9th February. This is to facilitate major works by Thames Water, which is planning to replace some 8km of Victorian pipework along Crouch Hill and in neighbouring streets. The first phase of the work will begin in the Broadway, where two-way traffic lights will operate for a period of 4 weeks. During this time the W7 bus stop outside the Town Hall will be closed.

Bus Routes Diverting

These changes means that buses will be on diversion during this time. The W7 will travel up Crouch End Hill and then along Hanley Road, so allow an extra 5 mins to get to Finsbury Park. The W5 westbound will also need to be diverted, but details have yet to be published.

Not good news, but the water mains are in a poor state as evidenced by instances of burst pipes at the bottom end of Crouch Hill in recent months.
