News Update

Three news items that will be of interest to residents

Hornsey Club

We have now submitted GMTRA’s response to the padel planning application, which you can read on the council’s planning website here>>. We have noted the comments and concerns lodged by many nearby residents and have reluctantly concluded that we need to object to the proposal in its current form. We feel that the club is being over-ambitious about the scale of the proposed padel operation given the many constraints of the site’s location. A reminder that if you wish to comment on the application you have until next Monday, 18th May.

Street Trees

Sadly the recently planted tree outside 34/36 Glasslyn has died. The council have now removed it and promised to replace it, but not until the next planting season. We are also aware that the tree outside 6 Tivoli is dead and we will be pushing the council to deal with this and hopefully replace it too.

Committee Change

Zander Calderwood and family will shortly be moving from Glasslyn Road, so Zander will be stepping down from the GMTRA committee. Our thanks to Zander for his contribution, especially for dealing with the council on tree-related matters. This means we are now down to a committee of four, and would welcome anyone who would like to join us. It’s not an onerous commitment – we meet six times a year. Do get in touch if you are interested.
