News & Updates From AGM

A round up of GMTRA news

AGM

First, thank you to everyone who came to our annual meeting on a stormy night on 2 November. Around 40 people were there, including our ward councillors Lester Buxton, Cressida Johnson and Luke Cawley Harrison, and Richard Tusting from the Shepherds Cot Trust. The AGM minutes are here >>

My thanks to the members of the committee who have all agreed to stay on for another year – this year’s committee is Stephanie Lawrence (Treasurer), Rob Jackson (Secretary), Nick Evans, Henry Perks, Simon Williets, Zander Calderwood, Andy Wiley, and me as chair. We are always keen to get more residents involved in the committee so if you might be interested in joining just let us know.

Highgate Wood School Open Evening

HWS have let us know – “we will be hosting an Open Evening event (for prospective 6th Form parents and students) at Highgate Wood School on 16th November between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. We have asked the visitors to please resort to walking or using public transport if they are able to.  We do hope that they will adhere to our request and that there will be no inconvenience for our neighbouring vicinity.”

Traffic and parking news

The new zebra crossing at the bottom of Wolseley Road – which we have advocated for some years – has now been installed.

The Council is planning to introduce some traffic calming measures on Shepherds Hill / Wolseley Road.  You can read the Council’s assessment of the recent consultation on this here.

The Council has also completed its consultation on the Crouch End controlled parking zones. The result for our roads, which are in the Crouch End B zone, is no change from the current 2pm-4pm Monday to Friday restriction. The detailed report is here. You’ll see that in each of our three roads a majority of the people who responded did not want any extension to the current controls.

The report for the CEA zone, where minor extensions are proposed, is here .
