Neighbourhood Watch: Weather Warning

The following is a message sent to us by Neil Rogers, Watch Liaison for Haringey.

As I’m sure you are all very much aware, the weather is picking up with temperatures in the 30’s and the met office has issued an red alert for heat starting on Sunday and lasting till at least Monday with heat expected to reach potential record highs next week.

The link for the met office warnings that have been issued are here https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/about-us/press-office/news/weather-and-climate/2022/extreme-heat-warning-issued

Make sure you keep yourself hydrated and stay in the shade or inside during the warmest parts of the day between 11-3pm. Check up on neighbours who may be vulnerable to make sure they have sufficient means to stay cool as well.

Whilst for a lot of people this time of year is a great way to enjoy the sun, it’s also one of the most dangerous times of the year, in particular the elderly and vulnerable, for dehydration and heat stroke.

Please look after yourselves and each other in Haringey!

Regards,
Neil Rogers
Watch Liaison Officer for Haringey
