Christmas Tree Recycling

With the new year almost upon us we know many of you will be taking down decorations in the coming days and weeks. We therefore wanted to provide information on how you can dispose of your Christmas Tree in Haringey for free and ensure it is recycled. The following is a message we’ve received from our local councillors with advice on how to dispose of your tree

Christmas Tree Recycling – kerbside collections and drop-off points

Haringey are offering a number of ways to recycle your Christmas tree, but before you use any of them please remember to remove all lights and decorations.

1. Kerbside property collection:

Your tree can be collected for free if you are eligible for a food and/or garden waste collection – simply place it in your garden waste bin on collection day.

If you don’t have a garden waste bin, leave it next to your kitchen caddy/wheelie bins – you can do this until the end of January.

Important: trees over 3 feet long (1 metre) should be cut in half otherwise they cannot be collected.

Communal bin property collection

The council can collect your tree for free, simply leave your tree next to your communal waste container – you can do this until the end of January.

If you live in a block with a communal chute, please do not put your Christmas tree down the chute.

Important: trees over 3 feet long (1 metre) should be cut in half otherwise they cannot be collected.

Designated drop-off sites within Haringey Parks

Alternatively, you can take them to designated sites in the following parks – this service is only offered for 4 weeks after Christmas Day.

Please only drop off your Christmas trees at the designated site within the Park (marked with signage).
